History

The Servants Alliance for Local Autonomy and Growth, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (SALAG-HADR) Foundation, Incorporated, or simply called SALAG, was organized for the advocacy of humanitarian assistance.

During one of the advocacy assemblies at the height of federalism campaign in September 2017, BGen. Danilo N. Ferrer (Ret.) PAF, consultant of the retirees and reservists group, met Mr. Romeo "Bong" Arnulfo Espaldon, a member of the board of the UN Kabalikat Program. It was then decided to organize an association under the said program.

In January 2018, both Mr. "Bong" Espaldon and BGen. Ferrer organized and named the association as SALAG to conform with the UN Kabalikat Program advocacy. The SALAG HADR Foundation, Inc. was registered with SEC under CN201964736 last August 19, 2019. SALAG's primary advocacy is humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, considering that all members (veterans, retirees, and reservists) possess military training and experience - hence skilled in security matters, and search and rescue operations.

The members consider themselves not only servants of the government, but also for the Filipino people. They came from all major branches of service of the AFP and uniformed personnel, and reservists who bonded together in alliance. Their primary advocacy is to help promote the general welfare of the people for growth, self-sufficiency, and prosperity.
